On Homecoming Night the Del Valle Conquistadores defeated the Bel Air Highlanders by a final score of 41 to 24. The game was closer than the score would indicate as Bel Air Would stop Del Valle on their first offensive series and drove the ball 74 yards capped off by a 5 yard Touchdown Run by Running Back Dervyn Loray. Del Valle Quarterback Sebastian Carr would find Tight End Sebastian Villalobos on a 83 Yard crossing route but miss the extra point to make the score 7 to 6. Bel Air Would re-take the lead on an 18 yard touchdown pass from Adrian Parsons to Adam Gomez to reclaim a 14 to 6 lead.
In the second quarter the Conquistadores would pull even on a 30 yard touchdown pass from Carr to receiver Christian Ranquillo and convert on the 2 point conversion tying the game up at 14. Bel Air would drive the ball down to the five yard line on their final possession on the first half and Carlos Zepeda would hit a 25 yard field go to give Bel Air a 17 to 14 lead at the half and all the momentum.
In the second half Del Valle would make both offensive and defensive adjustments and go on a 27-0 run that would start with a 32-yard Joel Serrano run for a touchdown. After several turnovers by the Highlanders, Del Valle’s defensive pressure from their Defensive Line and blitz packages would get Adrian Parsons and the Bel Air Offense out of the rhythm they established in the first half. Joel Serrano would add Touchdown runs of 42 and 8 yards and rush for over 280 yards un-officially to help Del Valle take control and run away with the game.
Del Valle improves to 2-1 in 1-5a, while Bel Air drops to 0-3. Del Valle wins the game on their homecoming by a final score of 41 to 24.
Speaking Rock Player of the Game: Del Valle Running Back Joel Serrano 281 Yards on 27 carries and 3 Touchdowns.
