Hanks Wins first Bi-District Title since 1995

In this Bi-District matchup between the Hanks Knights and Austin Panthers, both teams brought in offenses that could turn on the jets at any time. 

The first half belonged to the Knights. The first score was a 62-yard TD screen pass from Aaron Molina to Ivan Regalado with a missed PAT to make it 6-0. The Knight defense was able to contain Austin’s run on the next possession.  

In the second quarter, Hanks hit the end zone, once again, with 7:19 left before halftime with a 5-yard Molina QB keeper for a TD. 

Right before halftime, Austin was able to get their run game going and scored with 34 seconds left in the second quarter, with a 1-yard TD run by William Rodriguez. On the kickoff, Mykal Blanco ended the half with an exclamation mark with a 90-yard kickoff return for a TD to send the game into the half with the Knights leading, 20-7. 

The Knights were the first to score to resume the second half with a 17-yard Molina TD QB keeper. The Panthers answered with a 5-yard William Rodriguez run to make it 27-14. The Knights ended the nights with a 15-yard TD run by Ivan Regalado to end the game with Hanks victorious, 34-14.  The win gave the Knight’s their first Bi-District title since 1995.

The Speaking Rock Player of the Game was Hanks QB Aaron Molina with 76 yards rushing and 1 TD on the ground.  

Hanks will play the winner of the Southwest vs Wichita Falls Rider game which will take place on Friday, November 15.
