Eastwood claims outright 1-5A DI district title with 34-14 win over El Dorado.

El Paso, Texas — The Eastwood Troopers defeated the El Dorado Aztecs by a final score of 34-14 on Senior Night from Trooper Stadium.

Noah Rios rushed for 225 yards on 23 carries unofficially and scored three touchdowns.  Eastwood would open the scoring with points off a Stone Scott interception on Eldorado’s opening drive of the game to set up a 18-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Christian Casteneda to wide-receiver Jacob Urbina.

El Dorado would drive the ensuing deep into Eastwood territory but penalties would stall the drive and the Aztecs would turn the ball over on downs at the Eastwood 14. Eastwood would score on an 82 yard drive capped of on a Christian Casteneda short quarterback keeper to extend their lead to 14 -0.

El Dorado quarterback Christopher Bustillos would throw his second pick to Stone Scott of the game and Eastwood would capitalize on the field position with Noah Rios scoring his first of three touchdowns putting the Troopers up 21-0 at halftime.

Eastwood would take the second half kickoff and drive three plays with Noah Rios scoring his second touchdown of the game making the score 28-0.

Christian Bustillos would lead two scoring drives one coming off an Eastwood fumbled snap to cut the lead to 28-14 after a pair of rushing touchdowns by Bustillos.  Eastwood would then give Rios six straight carries for a six play, 75 yard drive to extend their lead to 34-14 which would end up being the final.

Eastwood’s with the win capped off a perfect 5-0 District 1-5A title in their first year after dropping down from 6A. Noah Rios would go over 1000 yards on the season with his outstanding effort on the evening.
