Both Del Valle and Ysleta came into the matchup out of the playoff, and playing for pride of the Lower Valley. Christian Luera quickly scored the game’s first five points as the Indians jumped out to a 5-0 lead. The Conquistadores would answer with an 8-2 run to take their first lead at 8-7. After Ysleta came back up 9-8, Del Valle would go on an 11-0 run to close out the first quarter up 19-9.
Del Valle would extend their lead to 17 points and lead 41-24 at halftime. The Conquistadores would begin the third quarter on a 13-0 run to extend their lead to 30 points at 54-24. Over the final quarter and a half of the game the Indians would outscore the Conquistadores 30-11; Del Valle holding on for the 65-54 victory.
Del Valle bid farewell to ten seniors on their senior night; that included Player of the Game Mathew Patterson who led the team with 19 points. The Conquistadores improved to 16-16 overall, 7-10 in district play; the Indians dropped to 9-20, 4-13.
