Aaron Robinson’s big night gives Parkland outright 2-5A district title

El Paso, Texas — Parkland Senior guard Aaron Robinson had a night to remember Tuesday night.

The senior dropped 36 points, and nailed a game winning three-pointer with a second left in overtime to help Parkland slip past Eastwood 54-52 in a district 2-5A thriller to end the regular season.

Robinson scored 22 second half points, and took over the fourth quarter scoring seven straight points during a 7-0 Parkland run.

Joseph Barnes scored 25 points for Eastwood and led a third quarter Eastwood run as the Troop took a 38-31 lead into the fourth quarter.

Robinson’s explosive run to start the fourth quarter was the difference as Parkland finishes two games ahead of Eastwood to clinch the district 2-5A title.  Parkland and Eastwood will host playoff games next week.
