Leading at halftime 29-26, Hanks only had 2 losses on its home floor coming into the game Friday, and looking to secure the 3rd spot in District 2-5A.
Eastlake had other ideas though as the Falcons outscored the Knights 19-6 in the 3rd period and lead 45-35. “Fear the Falcon” they say. Well, it definitely could be said as they held on to a 63-53 victory.
Orien Olivas had 19 points to help the Falcons and Armando Sarmiento scored 15 points. In a losing effort, Jason Fernandez had 19 points and his teammates Kyle Malone and Jazz Robinson had 10 points each.
Eastlake is now 21-11 overall, and 12-5 in District 2-5A and finishes the regular season at Bel Air. Hanks, 19-11 overall, and 13-4 in District 2-5A will host Del Valle to round up their regular season on Tuesday as well.
Both teams have already clinched playoff spots.
