Parkland Uses Huge Second Half to Beat Eastlake 72-52

In a game that was tied at the half 31-31 the Parkland Matadors showed why they are the best team in District 2-5A and outscored Eastlake by 20 points in the second half to win 72-52 in district play on Friday night.

Parkland is an all around great team, they have Oscar Lucero and Jadyn Thomas inside who control the paint.  They have great wings and posts in John Mercer and Aaron Dreher and they have amazing guard play in Aaron Robinson and Donovan Johnson.  Mercer and Johnson were the leading scorers for Parkland with 15 each.

Mercer and Johnson were the leading scorers for Parkland with 15 each. Parkland plays zone for the majority of the game but with their size and speed it makes it tough on any offense. I look for Parkland to make a big run in the state playoffs.  They have all the pieces and great coaching in Jeremy Vanley.
