The Hanks Knights showed their offensive firepower with a 59-20 victory of the Socorro Bulldogs at Excalibur Stadium on Friday night.

Hanks under the direction of First-Year Coach Jason Blair got out to 25-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and never took their foot of the gas on offense.

Hanks standout Wide Receiver Michael Blanco established his dominance immediately scoring on a 75 yard touchdown pass from Aaron Molina on Hanks’ second offensive play from scrimmage on a drive that took the Knights only eight seconds to score their first points of the season.

Blanco needed 797 receiving yards to break the El Paso High School all-time receiving yardage record and unofficially had 255 yards on six catches including receiving touchdowns 75, 80, 20, & 80 yards and also scored on 85 yard kickoff.

Blanco also added a rushing touchdown on a three-yard jet sweep to cap of a six touchdown performance. Hanks Quarterback Aaron Molina threw for five touchdowns and added another 45 yard rushing touchdown.

The Socorro Bulldog offensive line and running attack showed great promise and had success moving the ball but turnovers and penalties would give the ball back to the prolific Knights offense.

Next up for Socorro will be a trip to Horizon and Hanks will play Bowie in a 5A in non-district matchup.
