EL PASO, Texas – If you like a lot of scoring, or indoor football, this was your type of game. Montwood and Eastlake went toe to toe and the Rams were left standing as they held on to a 59-56 thriller over the Falcons, at The SAC.
Both teams came out with their scoring machines, and the first quarter ended with Montwood leading 21-14, but was able to pick it in from 2 yards on the first play of the 2nd quarter on a Chris Ramos run, who finished with 27 carries for 185 yards and 5 touchdowns and had 5 catches for 39 yards, who was the Speaking Rock Player Of The Game.
Not to be outdone, on the ensuing kickoff, the Falcons scored on an 88 yard kickoff return by Blas Compean. He also had 8 catches for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, receiving. Oh, he also had one interception as well, to go with a few tackles, and Eastlake hung around and was down 42-28 at the halfway point.
Orion Olivas helped the Falcons with 18 carries for 73 yards, and 1 touchdown on the ground, but was 20-29 for 290 yards and 5 touchdowns in the air. His counterpart, the Rams, Sebastian Galvan was 22-25 for 180 yards, only had one interception, but 3 touchdown passes.
Eastlake fought all they could, but Montwood was able to hold on and a great defensive stand in the end helped the Rams pull off a 59-56 victory. Montwood gets their 1st win of the year and move to 1-1, and Eastlake falls to 0-2.
