Odessa Permian eliminates Americas in UIL Regional Quarterfinal

Alpine, Texas – Odessa Permian beat Americas for the third time in the 2018-19 season, this time the Panthers eliminated Americas from the playoffs with a 39-33 triumph Tuesday night.

Nakavien White led the Panthers with a game high 14 points, helping a 19-2 second quarter run for the Mojo which ended up being the big difference on the scoreboard.

Permain started the game 1-for-13 from the field, and Americas led 10-3 after the first quarter.  However, an Americas scoring drought which parlayed into the 19-2 Mojo run which gave Permian a 24-18 halftime lead.

Americas traded buckets with the Panthers the rest of the way, showing a good defensive game plan to slow the tempo, but just could not answer the second quarter run that put Permian in the Regional tournament for the second season in a row.

The Blazers seasons ends at 29-9 overall, with a district 1-6A banner.
