Week Six Super Eight Power Poll

Team (First place votes) Points Last week Outlook
#1 Parkland (4-0-1) (10) 198 #1 Parkland rolled at Socroro last week and continues to cruise their non-district schedule. Deion Hankins ran for 300 yards and looks super healthy.  A bye week will help get this team ready and rested for a huge second half of the season run.
#2 Del Valle (3-1) (3) 164 #3 Raymond Montez put up another strong performance, leading Del Valle to a nice and 3-1 record.  Del Valle will have another bye week, their second of the season.
#3 Coronado (3-1) 145 #5 The T-Birds have allowed just nine points in the last three games and pitched their second consecutive shutout last week in a win against Canutillo.  Montwood awaits after this week’s bye week to open 1-6A play.
#4 Ysleta (5-0) (1) 144 #7 Ysleta proved they are for real as they dominated Bel Air on the road.  The Indians picked up a first place vote and will be favorite along with Parkland in district D2 1-5A
#5 Pebble Hills (3-2) 142 #2 Pebble Hills suffered a major upset, and now has dropped two straight games.  The Spartans head into the bye week looking for answers as they will face Socorro to open district play after the week off.
#6 Franlklin (3-2) 123 #8 Franklin has shook off a slow start and won three straight heading into the off week.  Franklin’s defense took a big step forward giving Franklin a case for a 1-6A title run.
#7 Andress (3-2) 112 #6 The Eagles continue district play with a major test in Burges this week.  Andress is always a district title favorite, but will have to put together a complete game this week.
#8 Eastlake (3-2) 102 NR Eastlake’s defense has been a strong point all season, but they may have found some offense last week in an exciting win against Pebble Hills.  Eastlake faces Eastwood after the bye week in a critical district opener for both teams.
