The Chapin Huskies had previously won six of their last seven, and were looking to stay in the thick of things in the playoff race. However, standing in the way were the first place Andress Eagles.

Both teams were back and forth after the first period with Andress leading 15-11, but Chapin stepped up and was leading at the half, 29-25, led by Annelise Dominguez who finished with 16 points. Chapin’s Kimberly Owens did her best by scoring 10 off the bench, and Jocelyn Daw also chipped in 10 as well.

Whatever coach Wadrian Wallace said at halftime to his team, must’ve worked. They outscored Chapin 39-18 in the second half and won by a commanding score of 64-47. Andress’ Hannah Cooper had a huge game by scoring 36 points. Arlene Madrid helped with 8 points, and Alliah Scallion tossed in 7.

Chapin still remains on the edge of the district playoff race at 8-5, and Andress continues to lead 1-5A at 12-1.
