With the Franklin Cougars and Pebble Hills Spartans knowing that if the Cougars win, they have sole possession of third place in district play and if the Spartans win, they share third place in the district.
The Spartans kept the lead most of the first half as they would answer any of Franklin’s scores. With a couple of explosive plays towards the end of the half, the Spartans went into the half with a 29-24 lead.
In the second half, the Spartans slowly ran away with the game. The Cougars had a few costly turnovers in the half that led to their downfall. With many explosive plays by leading scorer and player of the game, Isaiah Davis, the Spartans took the 68-44 victory over the Cougars.
Next up for Pebble Hills will be the Thunderbirds when they travel to Coronado on Tuesday. Franklin will host the Socorro Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
