Odessa, Texas — Wichita Falls Rider ran for 388 total rushing yards, and dominated the second half to move onto the regional semifinals with a 41-10 win over Andress Friday afternoon at Ratliff Stadium.
Andress trailed 14-10 at halftime, but Rider scored on their first four second half possessions to blow this one wide open.
The Eagles put together a nice opening drive, going 70 yards on 11 plays, taking a 7-0 lead after a 10 yard pass from Jeremiah Tosky to Marco Barron.
A botched field goal, then a 37-yard field goal by Mark Ramos right before the end of the first half cut the lead to 14-10 Rider at the half.
Three big second half plays by Rider put this one out of reach. First a 32- yard pass from Jacob Rodriguez to Noah Randall, then a 41-yard run by Tre Byrd, followed up by a Samuel Manuel 55-yard touchdown run to make it 34-10 Rider with 10:02 left in the game.
Jacob Rodriguez earned our Casa Nissan Player of the Game. Throwing for three touchdowns, and he also ran for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Manual finished the night with 118 rushing yards, Byrd had 95 rushing yards, Rider ended the nightg with 505 total yards of offense.
Andress turned the ball over three times, Tosky threw a pair of interceptions, finishing the game with 182 yards through the air.
Rider coninutes their season, improving to 7-5 and will face the winner of Parkland-Canyon Randall.
Andress season ends at 9-3 overall.
