Odessa, Texas — From the opening drive of the game, the Permian Panthers dominated the Coronado T-Birds, winning their 29th bi-district title.
The Mojo defense held Coronado to just 104 total yards of offense and forced three turnovers and recorded their first playoff shutout since 1994.
Permian drove 87 yards on 11 plays that took 5:03 off the clock as Ed Williams scored from two yards out to give Permian a 7-0 lead.
Permian’s Justin Hammond earned Casa Nissan Player of the game honors, as he ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown and also threw for a touchdown.
Williams finished with 95 rushing yards a pair of touchdown runs, Permian led 35-0 at halftime.
Coronado’s season ends at 7-4 overall.
