The Hanks Knight took care of business over the El Paso High Tigers, running away to a 61-22 victory. Aaron Molina started the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run, going up 7-0. El Paso answered back when Sophomore Val Majerczyk ran it in from 29 yards out, evening the score at 7-7.
The Knights then scored 54 unanswered points with Molina connecting for six touchdown passes. He would finish 17 of 24 for 469 yards passing, the six touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown to be named the Speaking Rock Player of the Game. Mykal Blanco, who came into the game needing only 341 receiving yards to set the city’s all-time receiving record, finished with 8 catches for 168 yards, three receiving yards and one 29-yard touchdown run. Aaron Candelaria added 4 catches for another 168 yards and two touchdowns.
In a losing effort, Val Majerczyk finished with 104 yards rushing and one touchdown. The Tigers would also score the final two touchdowns of the game when Zach Rodriguez found Auden Rogness from 14 yards out and Rodriguez ran in the final score from 9 yards out.
