Franklin boys overpower Montwood 48-32

El Paso, Texas — A balanced scoring attack, and tough defense lifted the Franklin Cougars over the Montwood Rams 48-32 Tuesday at Montwood High School.

The win gives Franklin sole possession of third place in the district 1-6A standings, and have now won three of their last four games.

Franklin broke open a 8-8 tie after the first quarter, and led 21-13 after scoring the first nine points of the second quarter.  The Cougars run would continue well into the third quarter as the Cougars built a comfortable lead.

Prince Roper led the way with 11 points, Kem Sloan added nine points for Franklin.  Tristan Johnson led the way for Montwood scoring 14 points.

Franklin will visit Pebble Hills on Friday, while Montwood travels to Socorro.
