It seemed like deja vu – with the Irvin Rockets jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the game – as the Irvin boys did earlier in the night. The only difference was that the Andress Eagles didn’t follow with a big run. The Irvin Rockets did not allow the Eagles to have their first lead until 2:18 left in the first quarter with a 8-7 score.
With a few turnovers and fast-paced play, the Eagles controlled the second quarter. They went into halftime leading the Rockets, 37-20.
The Eagles continued their momentum in the second half. They ended the 3rd quarter with their largest lead – 19 points. The Eagles didn’t let up in the 4th quarter as they came up with the 67-43 victory. The player of the game for the Eagles was Hannah Cooper, who had 15 points.
Next up for the Andress Eagles will be Canutillo at home. The Irvin Rockets will play until Tuesday, February 5, when they host the El Paso High Tigers.
