El Paso, Texas — Andress picked up its seventh straight victory, after a penalty filled 5A DII bi-district game against Hanks 33-12.
After a competitive first quarter, the Knights trailed the Eagles by six, yet all momentum was lost, when turnovers and penalties became the story of the game.
Despite Hanks scoring on a kick return to start the second half to come within one, they could not stop Andress on third down throughout the night as the Eagles slowly pulled away. Andress wide receiver, Marco Barron, scored a 29-yard punt return touchdown and recorded 27 yards receiving with one touchdown, for he is our Casa Nissan Player of the Game.
Jeff Woodruff’s Eagles advance to the Area round for 21st time in school history and will take on Wichita Falls Rider next week, while the Knights season comes to an end, finishing with a 5-6 record under second year head coach Aaron Price.
