#6 Burges Mustangs (3-1) @ #4 Andress Eagles (4-1, 1-0)
7:00 kickoff, Alan Sepkowitz Stadium
Broadcasters: Sergio Robali and Tony Grijalva
Channels: Austin and Burges https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/andress-eagles/
Positioning for a district title is on the line in this colossal match up. Andress’ defense flexed their muscles last week holding Austin to just 45 yards rushing. The Eagle defense is anchored by All-State linebacker Kiante Liggins along with a big and physical defensive line. Quarterback Jeremiah Tosky threw for four touchdowns last week, wideout Camryn Rice was the recipient of two of those scores. Burges has some legit talent at the skill position with versatile athletes. The Mustangs are averaging 243 rushing yards per game led by Robert Hall who is averaging more than six yards per carry and has seven rushing touchdowns . Tavorus Jones does it all as he has more than 200 yards rushing and receiving so far, and will also line up at quarterback and throw the ball. Main quarterback AJ Caldwell has thrown for four touchdowns. The big match up in this one is the Burges offensive line versus a tough defensive line from Andress. Should be a close game, big plays could be the difference.

Austin Panthers (3-2, 0-1) @ Jefferson Silverfoxes (2-3, 1-0)
7:00 pm kickoff, Silver Fox Stadium
Broadcasters: Paul David Oliver and Shawn Murphy
Channels: Austin and Jefferson https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/jefferson-silver-foxes/
Two top rushing teams meet up in an interesting district match up. Jefferson is coming off a big district opening win against Irvin, while Austin looks to bounce back from a loss against Andress. Jefferson’s sophomore running back Arturo Rubio leads District 2-5A DII in rushing yards in the first five weeks, giving the Foxes a legit weapon out of the backfield. Austin saw their rushing game struggle last week but will still look to control the line of scrimmage. Isaiah Witterstauter returned to the lineup last week against Andress will look to get back to on track against Jefferson. A very important game for playoff positioning, look for Austin to bounce back with their defense.

Irvin Rockets (1-3, 0-1) @ El Paso Tigers (0-5, 0-1)
7:00 pm kickoff, R.R. Jones Stadium
Broadcasters: Mike Tipton and Mark Saldana
Channels: Irvin and El Paso https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/el-paso-tigers/
A chance a first district win is on the line at beautiful Jones Stadium. The young Irvin Rockets will look to bounce back from a loss, while El Paso tries to figure things out coming into this week winless. Irvin has the better playmakers, but it is El Paso High’s homecoming so expect some energy from the Tigers who will be looking to turn a huge corner. Expect a close game to go down to the wire, Irvin’s playmakers will be the difference.
