Broadcasters: Mando “Monster” Medina and Coach Tony Grijalva
Channels: Coronado and Franklin https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/el-paso-isd/
Heated rivals square off for playoff positioning Thursday night in the Sun Bowl. Franklin has taken over the reins as the hottest team in the city as they have won four straight games. Coronado’s offense was grounded last week in a tough loss to Montwood and will have to get back on track against a Franklin offense that is averaging nearly 500 yards of offense per game. Can the Coronado offense keep up? Franklin has never lost to Coronado two straight years.

Broadcasters: Ryan Adams and Christian Molinar
Channels: Riverside and Canutillo https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/canutillo-isd/
Riverside has played great football lately, while Canutillo looks to stay on track for a playoff spot. Offensive line play will be key in this one, and taking advantage of turnovers will be another key. Should be a physical game, with a turnover deciding a close outcome.

El Paso Tigers (3-4, 1-2) @ Burges Mustangs (3-2-1)
Broadcasters: Shawn Murphy and Trey Smith
Channels: El Paso and Burges https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/el-paso-isd/
Coming off a tough loss against rival Austin, the El Paso Tigers look to bounce back against Robert Hall and Burges. Hall ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns last week against Jefferson and should continue his strong sophomore season against an El Paso team that has lost three of their last four. Burges is a heavy favorite, but El Paso has a talented runner that can change the complexion of a game with one big play.

Deion Hankins has been playing on another level over the past few games and is close to another 1,000-yard rushing season. Parkland’s numerous offensive weapons make them a lock for 40-points per game. Ysleta will have to play mistake free football and get big plays from superb quarterback Joziah Salazar to keep up with Parkland.

Kam Walker notched his third 100-yard game of the season last week against El Paso, and sophomore linebacker William Rodriguez has notched 93 tackles. Bowie brings a potent running game led by veteran Nathan Felix. Lots of familiarity between the coaching staffs will lead to a fun battle in Central El Paso.

Broadcasters: Michael Montes and Cole Freytag
Channels: Montwood and Pebble Hills https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/socorro-isd/
An 1-6A district title eliminator game takes place Friday at the SAC between Montwood and Pebble Hills. Both programs understand a loss doesn’t mean you’re officially out of the district tile race, but these two shared the title last year and will be looking for the outright crown. It will be Montwood’s elite defense against Pebble Hills balanced and explosive offense. Montwood quarterback Jason Fernandez had one of the best games of the year last week. Quarterback play and winning the turnover margin will key in what should be another instant classic between these brewing rivals.

Channels: Eastwood and Del Valle https://www.towntalksportselpaso.com/ysleta-isd/
Another instant classic potential as Eastwood and Del Valle square off in a colossal matchup for the early positioning in the DI-1-5A championship race. Del Valle has been clicking on both sides of the ball, with quarterback Raymond Montez playing MVP-like football. Eastwood has been playing fluidly on both sides of the ball with athletes making plays all over the field. Picking a winner in this one is tough, should be a high scoring, high emotion game of is tougher.
