ODESSA, Texas – In a much-anticipated rematch between Franklin and Odessa Permian, the Panthers deliver a victory to the Mojo faithful 48 – 13 at Ratliff Stadium.
Permian senior quarterback Easton Hernandez proved to be too much, rushing for 167 yards and three touchdowns. The Panthers flexbone formation stretched Cougar linebackers thin, opening holes for slot-backs and running backs; Alex Rose, Brian Mahaffey and Terran Limuel all finding pay dirt.
The Cougars offense struggled to contain the Permian blitz, yet Franklin senior quarterback Danny Walther passed for 290 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The Speaking Rock player of the game was Franklin senior wide receiver Michael Haack, 7 catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Franklin wrap up their season with a record of (8-3), while Permian (7-4) move on to the next round of the UIL state playoffs and will host the Martin Warriors of Arlington.
