EL PASO, Texas – Out on the Westside last night, Pebble Hills defeated the Coronado Thunderbirds by a score of 49-35 to punch their playoff ticket.

Pebble Hills stretched their muscles early and often, showcasing a strong ground game, QB Sebastian Ochoa finished with 108 yards on the night and RB/DE Anthony Romero ran for 105 yards. Romero was selected as our Player of the Game for having a strong defensive game as well.

At the 6:25 mark of the third quarter Pebble Hills had a 35-7 lead when Coronado made a dramatic comeback to make the game exciting in the fourth quarter cutting the lead down to 35-28. However after a recovered onside kick Romero sealed the deal with a 32 yard jaunt up the middle of the T-Bird defense.

Pebble Hills now takes on Amarillo Tascosa @Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo on Friday at 5pm.
