EL PASO, Texas – Franklin running back Erwin Sutton rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns with only 6 carries, as the Franklin high powered offense carved through Midland all game to trounce the Bulldogs 55-21 at Cougar stadium.

The Cougars defense once again played stingy football and didn’t allow the Bulldogs to settle into its offense. Franklin stud linebacker David Powers shined on both sides of the ball with his usual lights out defense, but it was his two rushing touchdowns that demoralized the Midland faithful.

Franklin receivers had a great night as Bryce Clark and Gabriel Stonewall hauled in a touchdown each, while Michael Haack accounted for two of his own. Quarterback Danny Walther threw for a modest 187 yards with four touchdowns and rushed for 91 yards making him our Speaking Rock Player of the game.

Franklin improves to 3-0 and next week travel to east El Paso to take on a winless El Dorado.
