EL PASO, Texas – The Eastwood Troopers wrapped up the 2019 regular season on a four game win streak as they defeated El Dorado 49-15 Thursday night at the SAC.
Eastwood got on the board first with a short touchdown run by Rudy Tellez to cap off an opening drive score for the Troopers.
Eastwood quarterback Andrew Martinez would find AJ Delgado on the Troopers next possession for a 17-yard score and the Troop led 14-0 with 4:05 left in the first quarter.
Delgado finished the night with a pair of touchdown receptions.
El Dorado would get on the board with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Richard Portillo to Kris Martin with 10:28 left until halftime cutting the lead to 14-7 Eastwood.
On the ensuing kickoff, Justin Gutierrez took the kick 82-yards for a score, extending the Eastwood lead to 21-7 with 10:14 left in second quarter.
Martinez would throw one more touchdown pass in the first half as Eastwood led 28-12 at the halftime break and never looked back.
El Dorado forced a sack for a safety, while the Aztec offense put up 150 of total yards of offense in the opening half.
Two scoring drives in the second half pushed Eastwood’s lead as the Troopers defense shut down the Aztecs offense.
Eastwood will host Lubbock Coronado next week in the bi-district round of the Texas State Playoffs.
