El Paso, TX – The Canutillo Eagles defeated the Hanks Knights 43-13 in dominant fashion thanks to stellar line play on both sides of the ball.

On the opening kickoff Canutillo Running Back Carlos Amato would take the opening kick 79 yards to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead, foreshadowing a big night for the senior who continues to have a stellar senior year.

Hanks Sophomore Quarterback Adrian Molina would equalize the score with a 70-yard drive with a touchdown pass to tie things at 7.  However, that’s as close as the score would get as Molina would be sacked four times by an aggressive 3-3-5 defense that would have the young quarterback under duress the entire game.

Canutillo Running Back Carlos Amato had a big night running the ball to add to his kickoff return carrying the ball 15 times for 169 yards unofficially. He would score rushing touchdowns of 79, 47, and 1 yard on this big night.

The Canutillo defense would double up Hanks Stand-out receiver Junior Mykal Blanco forcing Molina to find another target. Canutillo would down a punt pinning Hanks on their own one-yard line and force an intentional grounding in the end-zone resulting in a safety for the final score of the game.

Hanks falls to 0-3 in District D2 1-5A, and 3-5 overall and will visit Ysleta next week. The Canutillo Eagles will visit Horizon with posting a 2-1 district record poised to all but solidify a playoff spot out to the district.
