UTEP picked up a local verbal commit from one of the city’s top defenders as 2020 Andress linebacker Kiante Liggins announced his commitment to the UTEP Miners via Twitter Saturday evening.

Liggins was a third team all-state member last year as a junior and earned TownTalk Sports El Paso All-Area first team honors after piling up 183 tackles and led Andress to a district title and bi-district title.

UTEP offered Liggins during their spring practices back in April, his verbal commitment gives UTEP their sixth verbal commit for the class of 2020 under head Coach Dana Dimel.
